Budget specification

1. Budget specification research project

The Hanarth Fonds contributes financially to the research, but will not finance the whole research. Staff costs should be based on the NWO scale of salaries for scientific as well as supporting staff of the (international) participating organizations.

Costs that are taken into consideration for funding are:
  • personal costs for the execution of the project 
  • open access publication costs (until a maximum of EUR 10,000 per project)
  • cost needed for the AI analyses, for example: software, licenses and hiring of computing services 
  • personal budget for (among other things) participation in conferences (and related costs for travel and stay) for maximum EUR 1,000 per FTE per year
Costs that are not eligible for financing are:
  • personnel costs of the main applicant (unless it will be demonstrated that it will be required that the main applicant performs execution activities for the project)
  • indirect costs such as personnel costs, such as project management, overhead costs at central, faculty and / or department level
  • Costs for FTE from both scientific project staff and non-scientific project staff, who are appointed to the project, to perform administrative or educational tasks, supervise other projects or tasks in the context of patient care;
  • housing and office costs
  • employers and declarations of intent
  • costs of knowledge transfer patents
  • costs of infrastructural facilities, such as the design of laboratories, unless approved and allocated under equipment costs in the project budget
  • costs for purchase and depreciation for general laboratory equipment (for example facs / cell sorters and microscopes) unless this has been approved and allocated under equipment costs in the project budget
  • generic software
  • costs for hardware, like desktop computers, laptops, notebooks and other  administrative purposes
  • investment costs voor GPU's, calculation clusters, workstations, etc.
  • (indirect) costs for collecting new data
  • costs for molecular/laboratory analyses
  • costs for third parties (for example for performing benchmarks)
  • costs associated with audits

2. Budget specification Fellowship

  • personnel costs of the Fellow
  • travel and accommodation costs
  • costs of courses and conferences
